Born in Onehunga, New Zealand, Su’a played his junior rugby league with the Mount Albert Lions and comes from a strong sporting family, with his father Murphy Su’a representing New Zealand in Test cricket. After joining the Newcastle Knights system in 2022, Su’a progressed through the club’s pathways and reserve-grade programs, impressing with his development and earning his first NRL appearance in 2024.
