Player Bio
Drew Hutchison has built his career primarily as a five‑eighth and halfback, with the ability to cover multiple positions when required.
Hutchison came through the St George Illawarra Dragons system, where his talent was evident early. In 2014, he was named halfback in the NYC Team of the Year and also earned selection for both the NSW Under‑20s and the Junior Kangaroos, confirming his status as one of the game’s leading young organisers at the time.
After making his NRL debut with the Dragons in 2015, Hutchison took a significant step in his development with a move overseas, spending the 2018 season with Leigh Centurions in the Betfred Championship. He enjoyed a standout year in England, scoring 13 tries in 35 appearances, sharpening his leadership and attacking game before returning to Australia.
In 2019, Hutchison joined the Sydney Roosters, where he became a valued squad member across five seasons. During his time at the club, he featured in 71 NRL matches, filled in across the halves when required, and was part of the Roosters’ broader high‑performance environment that delivered sustained success, including premiership‑winning standards and finals football.
Ahead of the 2024 season, Hutchison signed with the Canterbury‑Bankstown Bulldogs, adding experience and depth to their spine. Across his NRL career to date, he has made over 120 first‑grade and professional appearances across Australia and the UK, earning a reputation as a dependable game manager and strong team‑first contributor.
