Matt Burton

Matt Burton is a NSW and Australian representative, Matt is entering the prime of his career, signed in the halves at Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs from 2022 and beyond. He previously played in the centres, at Penrith Panthers, where he won the 2021 Premiership and was awarded the Dally M Centre of the Year. He previously played 5/8 with Penrith Panthers in the NYC, NSW Canterbury Cup and was called into the New South Wales, U20 Winning Team in 2019 at Halfback, where he scored 2 Tries and Won Player of the Match.

In 2022, whilst at the Bulldogs, Matt debuted for New South Wales in game two of the 2022 State of Origin series and scored a try. The same year he was awarded the Members Player of the Year with his new Club. In the off season Matt was named in the Prime Ministers XIII as well as the Australian Team to tour England in the World Cup 2022.

In Jan 2023 Burton was awarded for his leadership and hard work being appointed into the Leadership Group as Game Day ON Field Co-Captain with Reed Mahoney. Burton played a total of 23 games for Canterbury in the 2024 NRL season as the club qualified for finals finishing 6th which was the first time Canterbury had managed to do this in eight seasons. Burton played 21 games for the Bulldogs in the 2025 NRL season as the club finished fourth and qualified for the finals.
