Manaia Waitere is a promising five-eighth for the Canberra Raiders and began his rugby league journey with the Como Crocs before moving through the grades with the Cronulla Sharks. He played 37 Jersey Flegg games for the Sharks from 2021 to 2023, crossing for 14 tries.

In 2024, he joined the Canberra Raiders and quickly became a key player in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, making 23 appearances and scoring 8 tries. His form carried into 2025 and is  an NRL development player with the Canberra Raiders for the season 2025.

Waitere’s hard work paid off in September 2025 when he made his NRL debut in Round 27 against the Dolphins. The milestone marks the next step in his career as he looks to establish himself at the top level.

Signed with the Raiders until at least the end of 2026, Manaia Waitere is set to be an exciting part of the club’s future spine.
