Kayla is a dynamic prop who first joined the Newcastle Knights Tarsha Gale Cup side in 2019. She earned a development contract with the Knights’ NRLW side in November 2021. In 2022, Kayla was named in the extended squad in Round 5 before being promoted to the top 24 NRLW squad. She played a key role in the Knights’ Grand Final victory over the Parramatta Eels, contributing to their championship win.

Kayla continues to be a vital member of the Knights’ forward pack, showing impressive growth in her skills and leadership. In 2024, she was honored with the Knights NRLW Community Player of the Year award, recognizing her outstanding contribution both on and off the field. Her performances in the NRLW have solidified her place as one of the standout props in the competition.

Kayla was named Vice Captain in 2025 for the Newcastle Knights NRLW team and became the first player to earn three consecutive Veronica White Medal nominations for her outstanding contribution to the community. Kayla’s remarkable hat-trick of nominations reflects not just her consistency, but the genuine and lasting impact she continues to have across the Hunter region.

Ahead of the 2026 season Kayla was named in the Prime Ministers XIII Australian Squad.
