Dean Pay played over 100 games for the Bulldogs and over 70 for the Parramatta Eels. He also represented New South Wales, NSW Country and Australia. In 2002 Pay was inducted into the Parramatta Eels Hall of Fame.

More recently, Pay has held coaching roles at Dubbo CYMS, Catalans Dragons, Melbourne Storm U20s, New South Wales U20s and Parramatta Eels. In 2017 he was named Head Coach of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
