Player Bio

Trent Hodkinson is a former NRL halfback best known for his leadership, kicking game and clutch performances at the highest level. Hodkinson made his NRL debut for the Manly‑Warringah Sea Eagles in 2010, scoring a try on debut. He went on to play 174 first‑grade games across the Manly Sea Eagles, Canterbury‑Bankstown Bulldogs, Newcastle Knights and Cronulla‑Sutherland Sharks, establishing himself as a reliable and composed playmaker.

Hodkinson enjoyed the most successful period of his career with the Canterbury Bulldogs, including playing in the 2014 NRL Grand Final and earning NSW State of Origin selection in 2014 and 2015. He played a pivotal role in ending Queensland’s eight‑year Origin dominance in 2014, scoring all six points in the famous 6–4 series‑clinching win.

After retiring from professional rugby league in 2019, Hodkinson has remained involved in the game through the NRL Community Ambassador program, working across initiatives such as State of Mind, League Stars Inspire and Roads to Regions. He now lives in Central Queensland with his wife and children, continuing to contribute to rugby league through community engagement and mentoring.
