Player Bio

Mitch Aubusson is a former Australian professional rugby league player and one of the most respected one‑club men of the modern NRL era, having spent his entire senior career with the Sydney Roosters.

Aubusson rose through the Roosters’ development system after representing Australian Schoolboys in 2005. He made his NRL debut in Round 1, 2007, and went on to enjoy a remarkable 14‑season career defined by consistency, versatility and selflessness.

Across his playing career, Aubusson made 306 premiership appearances for the Roosters, becoming the club’s most‑capped player at the time of his retirement. He primarily played second row and centre, but was renowned as the ultimate “Mr Fix‑It”, regularly filling roles across the backline and forward pack whenever required.

A key figure in one of the Roosters’ most successful periods, Aubusson was a member of three NRL Premiership‑winning teams in 2013, 2018 and 2019, as well as multiple World Club Challenge and Anzac Cup victories.

At representative level, Mitch earned selection for NSW Country in 2016 and 2017, further recognising his standing within the game.

Aubusson retired at the conclusion of the 2020 NRL season, closing the book on a career widely admired for its professionalism, durability and team‑first mindset. Following retirement, he remained with the Sydney Roosters in off‑field roles including junior pathways recruitment, football operations, and club ambassador, continuing his long‑standing contribution to the Club.
