Player Bio

Mikaele Ravalawa is a powerful Fijian winger renowned for his strength, explosive running and prolific try‑scoring ability. He made his NRL debut in Round 1 of the 2019 season with the St George Illawarra Dragons and quickly became one of the competition’s most dangerous finishers, developing a reputation as a crowd favourite for his physical presence and fearless carries.

Before reaching the NRL, Ravalawa came through the Canberra Raiders’ Holden Cup system, where he enjoyed a standout 2017 season, scoring 12 tries and earning the club’s Under‑20s Player of the Year award. His form earned him a contract with the Dragons, where he went on to score 67 tries in 98 NRL appearances, finishing as the club’s top try‑scorer in multiple seasons.

On the international stage, Ravalawa has represented Fiji, being selected for the Rugby League World Cup squad in 2021 (played in 2022), further cementing his status as one of the nation’s premier outside backs.

The 2024 season marked another career highlight, with Ravalawa crossing for 21 tries for St George Illawarra, one of the highest tallies in the NRL and a testament to his consistent finishing ability. Ahead of the 2025 season, he joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs, adding proven experience, international pedigree and strike power to the club’s outside backs for the remainder of the year.

Following his NRL chapter, Ravalawa has now taken the next step in his career by joining the Castleford Tigers in the Super League, bringing proven top‑level experience, international pedigree, and elite finishing ability to the English game.
