Player Bio
Josh Morris is one of the most accomplished centres of the modern era: a 325‑game NRL veteran with 158 career tries, top‑tier representative pedigree, and a reputation for professionalism, integrity and impact on and off the field. He debuted for St George Illawarra in Round 1, 2007, before starring across long stints at Canterbury‑Bankstown Bulldogs, Cronulla‑Sutherland Sharks and the Sydney Roosters, where he retired at the end of 2021.
A natural strike weapon who could play centre, wing or fullback, Josh became a crowd favourite at Canterbury, scoring 103 tries across 10 seasons and featuring in Grand Finals (2012, 2014) then added leadership and clutch moments at Cronulla and the Roosters alongside his twin brother Brett.
At representative level, Josh played 15 State of Origin games for New South Wales (including the drought‑breaking 2014 series win) and six Tests for Australia, adding further appearances for Country Origin, NRL All Stars and the Prime Minister’s XIII. He was recognised as the Dally M Centre of the Year in 2012.
Josh officially announced his retirement on August 30, 2021, concluding a 15‑season career in which he earned universal respect from teammates, rivals and coaches alike.
Josh is the twin brother of fellow Test and Origin star Brett Morris and the son of Australian and NSW representative Steve “Slippery” Morris.
Currently Josh is part of the 2GB Continuous Call Team and “The Offload” Podcast.
