David Fifita Jnr is one of the NRL’s most explosive second‑rowers, joining the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2026 and 2027 seasons after impactful stints with the Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans. Known for his power, athleticism, and game‑breaking ability, he has been a dominant force since making his NRL debut for the Broncos in Round 16 on 30 June 2018 against the Canberra Raiders.
Across his career to 2025, Fifita has played 134 NRL games, scoring 50 tries, and consistently establishing himself as one of the game’s most dangerous edge forwards.
His representative résumé is extensive:
– Queensland Maroons: 8 State of Origin matches (2019, 2021, 2023)
– Tonga: 4 Test matches including the 2022 Rugby League World Cup campaign
– Indigenous All Stars: 4 appearances (2019–2022)

Fifita’s explosive 2023 season earned him major recognition, including the Dally M Second Rower of the Year award and the Gold Coast Titans Members MVP, cementing his status as one of the competition’s elite forwards.
Now entering the prime years of his career, Fifita joins South Sydney in 2026 under the guidance of coach Wayne Bennett, the same coach who handed him his NRL debut, an exciting reunion that Rabbitohs management believes will unlock his best football yet.
