Player Bio
Bronte Wilson is a powerful young prop for the St George Illawarra Dragons, quickly emerging as one of the most exciting forward prospects in the NRLW. A proud product of the Collegians Wollongong junior system, Wilson rose through the Illawarra pathways and made her mark as a standout member of the Illawarra Steelers undefeated 2024 Tarsha Gale Cup premiership team, where she also scored a try in the Grand Final.
Her rise accelerated rapidly in 2024, when she became just the second player in NRLW history to receive an age exemption, allowing her to debut for the Dragons as a teenager in Round 1 of the season, earning the distinction of Dragon #87. She handled the jump to NRLW level with confidence, showcasing her power through the middle, strong post‑contact metres, and high‑energy defensive efforts.
Wilson continued to impress throughout 2025, playing regular minutes in the Dragons’ forward rotation and delivering consistent impact as both an interchange forward and starting prop. Her performances included hard, direct carries, effective tackling, and the ability to generate momentum late in sets, key assets for a young middle forward.
Her representative résumé is already substantial. Wilson has featured for NSW Country Under‑19s and the NSW Under‑19s Blues, scoring tries in both programs and she also made her international debut for Italy, uniquely sharing the field with her mother in a 2024 Test match.
