Player Bio

Braden Uele is a powerful, hard‑running prop forward who plays for the Cronulla‑Sutherland Sharks in the NRL. Known for his impact through the middle, aggressive carries, and consistent energy, he has become a cornerstone of the Sharks forward rotation.

Uele made his NRL debut in Round 21 of the 2017 season for the North Queensland Cowboys against the Sydney Roosters before joining the Sharks in 2018, where he solidified his spot as a regular first‑grader from 2019 onward.

Since arriving at Cronulla, he has played over 130 NRL games, establishing himself as a consistent performer and respected leader within the squad. He reached the milestone of 100 NRL games in April 2024 and continues to be a dominant physical presence in the Sharks’ engine room.

Internationally, Uele has represented New Zealand (2019) and Samoa, including selection for Samoa’s 2022 Rugby League World Cup squad, demonstrating his standing among the top middle forwards in the game.

Highly regarded by the club, he signed a two‑year contract extension keeping him at Cronulla until the end of the 2026 season, reaffirming his long‑term commitment to the Sharks and his importance to their forward pack.
