Boyd Cordner is one of the most respected figures in modern rugby league, renowned for his leadership, toughness and professionalism throughout an outstanding NRL career.

A one‑club player, Boyd spent his entire NRL career with the Sydney Roosters, debuting in 2011 and going on to captain the club for seven seasons. Under his leadership, the Roosters achieved sustained success, including back‑to‑back Premierships in 2018 and 2019, cementing their place as one of the dominant teams of the era.

At representative level, Boyd represented New South Wales and Australia, earning a reputation as a player who thrived on the biggest stages. His uncompromising style of play, combined with his calm and composed leadership, made him a natural leader at both club and representative level.

Boyd announced his retirement in 2020 following medical advice, finishing his career with over 180 NRL games, multiple premierships, State of Origin series wins and international honours.
