Player Bio

Blayke Brailey is an elite NRL hooker and proud Cronulla junior who made his first‑grade debut for the Sharks in Round 1, 2019. His rapid rise continued as he claimed the starting No. 9 jersey in 2020 and built on earlier success as a key member of the Newtown Jets’ 2018 NSWRL Premiership‑winning side.

Durable, consistent and highly influential, Brailey was honoured with the Cronulla Sharks Iron Man Award in 2022 after playing every match of the season as the club finished inside the top four. His strong form earned him inclusion in the extended NSW Blues squad for the 2023 State of Origin series opener. In 2024, he secured back‑to‑back Porter Gallen Medals, becoming the first player since Michael Gordon to achieve the feat and again collected the club’s Iron Man Award while leading the side with 3,360 touches for the year.

The 2025 season marked several major milestones. Brailey celebrated his 150th NRL appearance, signed a long‑term extension keeping him at Cronulla until the end of 2030 and capped the year by winning the Dally M Hooker of the Year award.

In 2026, Brailey was officially named co‑captain of the Sharks, fulfilling a lifelong dream for the local junior.
