Player Bio

Blake Lawrie is a powerful, hard‑working middle‑forward who plays as a prop and lock for the St George Illawarra Dragons. Renowned for his work rate, physicality, and consistency, Lawrie has developed into one of the club’s most reliable performers, contributing leadership and durability through the middle of the field.

Lawrie made his NRL debut in Round 17 on 30 June 2017, playing for St George Illawarra against the Gold Coast Titans.

Coming through the Dragons’ pathway system, he also earned representative honours with the Junior Kangaroos and NSW Under‑20s, marking him early as a standout young forward.

Across his career, Lawrie has collected a number of major accolades. He won the Immortals Trophy in 2019, recognising his commitment and standards within the club, and again produced a strong campaign in 2022, playing 24 games and continuing to be a central figure in the forward pack.

The 2023 season was the most decorated of his career, where he received three major awards:

– Dragons Medal – NRL Player of the Year
– Red V Members’ Player of the Year
– NRL Community Involvement Award

These accolades reflected both his on‑field impact—highlighted by career‑high running metres and tackle efficiency and his off‑field leadership and community involvement.

In April 2025, Lawrie reached a major milestone, becoming just the 14th player in Dragons history to play 150 NRL games, achieving the feat during the club’s Anzac Day clash.

He is contracted with the club until at least the end of 2026, reinforcing his continued importance to the Dragons’ long‑term forward pack.
