Kayla is a prop who joined the Newcastle Knights Tarsha Gale Cup Side in 2019. She then went on to sign a development contract with the Knights NRLW side in November 2021

In Round 5 of the 2022 Season Kayla was named in the extended squad and with the Newcastle Knights NRLW top 24 squad before playing a role in the Grand Final win over the Parramatta Eels.
