Jesse Colquhoun

Jesse Colquhoun is a promising young forward for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL.

Born in Wollongong, New South Wales, Jesse began his rugby league journey with the Collegians Rugby League Football Club. His talent was evident early on, representing Edmund Rice College from Year 7 to Year 12 and captaining the school’s Open Rugby League Team in 2019. That same year, he was selected for the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (NSWCCC) team, contributing a try in their dominant 44–0 victory over NSW Combined High Schools at the Australian Schoolboys Championships.

Jesse made his NRL debut in Round 18 of the 2022 season, coming off the bench in the Sharks’ 26–12 win over the North Queensland Cowboys . Despite facing setbacks due to foot injuries in consecutive seasons, he showcased determination by returning to play for the Newtown Jets and earning his first NRL start as a back-rower in Round 21 of the 2023 season against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Recognizing his potential and dedication, the Sharks extended Jesse’s contract through the end of the 2026 season . Beyond his on-field achievements, Jesse was honored with the NRL Wellbeing & Education Excellence Award in 2024, reflecting his commitment to personal development and community engagement.
