Lachlan Crouch is a powerful middle forward for the Newcastle Knights, recognised for his strong work ethic, high involvement through the middle and ability to consistently deliver quality minutes in both attack and defence. The Maitland product has developed a reputation as a hardworking prop with excellent game awareness and a low-error style of football.

A proud East Maitland Griffins junior, Crouch progressed through the Newcastle Knights' pathways system and was a member of the club’s 2019 Harold Matthews premiership-winning side. His junior development in the Hunter laid the foundation for a professional career built on resilience, consistency and continual improvement.

After furthering his development in the NSW Cup system, Crouch established himself as one of the competition’s most reliable front-rowers. His performances earned widespread recognition, with Newcastle Knights Head of Recruitment Peter O’Sullivan describing him as a skilful player with a strong motor, outstanding football IQ and one of the premier props in the NSW Cup competition.

In June 2025, the Knights secured Crouch on a three-year NRL contract, bringing the local junior back to the Hunter for the 2026 season. The move represented a homecoming for a player who had emerged through the club’s junior ranks and continued to impress with his professionalism and impact at representative and reserve-grade level.

Crouch achieved a lifelong dream when he made his NRL debut for the Newcastle Knights in Round 18 of the 2026 NRL Premiership against the Dolphins on 5 July 2026. Coming from the interchange bench, he made an immediate impression with 95 running metres, 38 post-contact metres and 25 tackles without a miss, helping the Knights secure a hard-fought 13-12 victory.
