Sariah Paki is an elite Australian Rugby Sevens international and Olympic athlete, widely recognised for her physicality, athleticism and impact on the world stage. A product of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Paki has been a consistent member of the Australian Women’s Sevens program since bursting onto the international scene as a teenager.
Originally growing up playing touch football with Manly Warringah, Sariah transitioned into rugby league before shifting codes to Rugby Sevens. Her rapid rise saw her make her World Series debut in 2018, becoming the youngest player ever to represent Australia on the global Sevens circuit when she debuted at just 17 years of age.
Since then, Paki has established herself as a key figure within the national setup. She represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, gaining invaluable experience on the sport’s biggest stage, before playing a pivotal role in Australia’s gold‑medal success at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Later that year, Sariah was a member of the Australian side that captured the Women’s Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cape Town, cementing her status as part of one of the most successful eras in Australian Sevens history.
Known affectionately as “Big Girl” within the squad, Paki is admired for her tough carries, defensive intent and infectious energy. Her professionalism and versatility have also seen her expand her pathway, committing to Super Rugby Women’s with the NSW Waratahs as part of Australia’s broader World Cup and Olympic planning cycle, while continuing her involvement with the national Sevens program.
