Ryan Sutton is an experienced and powerful prop forward currently playing for the Bradford Bulls, bringing elite Super League and NRL experience to the club ahead of their return to the top flight. A product of the Wigan Warriors system, Sutton made his professional debut in 2014 and went on to enjoy a highly successful spell with his hometown club, making more than 100 first‑team appearances and winning Super League Grand Finals in 2016 and 2018. His physicality, work rate and durability quickly established him as a reliable middle forward at the highest level.
In 2019, Sutton made the move to the NRL, signing with the Canberra Raiders, where he featured across four seasons and played a key role in the club’s run to the 2019 NRL Grand Final. He followed this with a stint at the Canterbury‑Bankstown Bulldogs, adding further first‑grade experience in Australia despite an injury‑interrupted period that limited his appearances.
After completing his NRL chapter, Sutton returned to England by signing with Bradford Bulls ahead of the 2026 Super League season, committing on a two‑year deal. His signing was seen as a major statement of intent, with the Bulls securing a proven middle forward known for his competitive edge, leadership qualities and understanding of high‑performance environments. Sutton has openly spoken about his motivation to help guide a developing squad and contribute experience on and off the field as Bradford re‑establish themselves in Super League.
