Player Bio

Lucy Murray is a powerful and consistent second‑row forward for Leeds Rhinos Women, recognised as one of the standout performers in the Betfred Women’s Super League. A product of the Leeds Rhinos Women’s Academy, Murray made her first‑team debut on the opening day of the 2021 season and has since developed into a core member of the squad, admired for her work rate, physicality, and intelligence on both sides of the ball.

After breaking through as a teenager, Murray steadily grew in influence, contributing from the bench in her early seasons before establishing herself as a regular starter. She played a role in Leeds’ 2022 Grand Final victory, adding to her experience in major games following appearances in Grand Finals and Challenge Cup Finals across multiple seasons. Her game continued to mature through 2023 and 2024, with consistent performances in both competitions, including starting in the 2024 Challenge Cup Final and featuring heavily throughout the Super League campaign.

Murray’s performances reached a new level in 2024, earning her a nomination for the Women of Steel award, recognition reserved for the competition’s elite. She carried that form into 2025, enjoying her most productive season to date as one of Leeds’ leading players. She scored 15 tries in 17 games, including hat‑tricks against Barrow and York Valkyrie, and was widely regarded as one of the Rhinos’ top performers across both competitions.

Her development has also been recognised beyond club level. Murray has represented England Women, further underlining her rise through the domestic game and her standing as a forward capable of performing on the international stage.

Known for her blend of strength, mobility, and high‑energy defence, Lucy Murray continues to be a key figure in Leeds Rhinos’ forward pack.
